ASSISTANT MANAGER FOR ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE, Vice President for Finance (VPF), to manage a small team responsible for Institute billings, collections, revenue reconciliation, accounts receivable journal entries, and data analysis and reporting. Will serve as a core member of the Accounts Receivable leadership team, driving team initiatives and providing support to controllership leadership; manage operations with a focus on metrics and analytics; promote VPF’s high standards of customer service excellence; and collaborate with the MIT community and external stakeholders.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related area; four years of experience in an accounting environment; experience with project management and/or process improvement implementation; proficiency with Microsoft Office; excellent collaboration, interpersonal, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail, quality of work, and timeliness of deliverables; training and coaching skills; self-motivation and initiative; and adaptability and flexibility when reprioritizing workload. Must be able to work both independently with moderate direction and as part of a team; take ownership of and manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines, while paying close attention to detail; respond to inquiries and use good judgment when escalating to senior management; manage an assigned workload and designate and assign tasks to members of the team; and deal effectively with stressful or high-pressure situations. PREFERRED: management experience; certified public accountant (CPA); experience with billing processes, managing accounts receivable, or sponsored grants/contracts accounting; knowledge of SAP, Kuali Coeus, Brio Query, and Cognos; experience analyzing performance-driven data and metrics; MIT experience; and research administration experience, including with sponsored grants and contracts.
