Whether it’s to move into a new skillset or higher level within your organization, move out in pursuit of another role, or to change career paths altogether, the ability to effectively plan your transition can help ensure success down the road.
Join Boston Women in Finance on October 15th for an interesting and engaging program focused on ‘New Roles, Careers, and Life Stages: Transition Planning for Success,’ where our panel of transition experts will help you prepare and build the skillset necessary to plan and execute your next transition more effectively.
Some areas we will discuss are as follows:
- Why career transitions can help boost your career, as well as those around you
- The best time to consider a transition
- How to prepare yourself and your organization for your next transition, including timing, resources necessary, training up of current personnel, etc.
- What are some important factors to consider before, during and after a transition

Joanne Derr, Executive Coach
As an Executive Coach and Consultant, Joanne works with leaders who are stepping up to a new level of leadership and need to think and act strategically to gain greater success for themselves and their teams.
In addition to executive coaching and developing high potential leaders, Joanne works with new leaders to create powerful on-boarding plans. She also runs 360° feedback processes for leaders and teams to become aware of their strengths and areas of development so that they can make noticeable and lasting changes.
Prior to running her own business, Joanne was the Vice President of Human Resources at Care.com, at Neighborhood Health Plan, and at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. Joanne was a global human resources leader at Nortel Networks/Bay Networks and started her HR career at Digital Equipment Corporation.
Sue Pardus, Partner, KLR Executive Search Group
Sue brings extensive experience as both an executive search professional and a corporate banking executive. Sue focuses on senior level search execution for clients in the Firm's Financial Services, Non-profit, Real Estate, and Middle Market practice groups. Sue joined KLR Executive Search Group in conjunction with the merger of Kiradjieff & Goode where she was an Executive Vice President & Equity Partner.
Earlier in her career, Sue was a Senior Vice President & Managing Director at Fleet and Bank of America. She successfully completed the Loan Officer Development Program at BankBoston and subsequently worked in several Corporate Banking Groups.
She has been actively involved with youth sports, having served as the President and Director of both the Friends of Lincoln-Sudbury Softball & Baseball organizations in addition to a Board member with the LSRHS All-Sports Boosters. She currently holds multiple development leadership roles with Bowdoin College. In addition, Sue is an active cyclist and runner participating in events that raise awareness and funding for Alzheimer's, Cancer, and ALS.
Sue graduated from Bowdoin cum laude and High Honors from Boston University's Executive MBA Program.
