Do you currently own your own business or have you thought about being your own boss?  Do you work with business owners? Join BWF and panelists Edwidge LaFleur from the Center for Women and Enterprise, Nadine Boone from the Small Business Administration and Mary Conway from Conway Communications for an informative event.  The session will explore:

  • Learn what's available for education and training for aspiring women entrepreneurs
  • Where to go for all forms of assistance
  • Hear first hand from a business owner
About our Panelists: 
    
  Edwidge LafleurEdwidge LaFleur, Program Manager, Center for Women and Enterprise has over 15 years of experience in business development, and project management working for organizations such as Harvard Medical International (HMI), and Action Aid. She came to CWE to support the organization’s growth and its successful delivery and administration of community-based programs.  She holds a degree in Development Economics and International Relations from the University of Miami. She’s fluent in 4 languages: French, English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.  

Nadine Boone, Lead Business Opportunity Specialist, Small Business Administration. Lead Business Opportunity Specialist takes me to Government Contracting since August 2016. Lead Lender Relations Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts (June 2015) United States Small Business Administration (SBA) to spur community economic development (CED) while working with banks and non-bank lenders.  My experience included a position as a Lender Relations Specialist and Economic Development Specialist at Washington Metropolitan Area District Office where I assisted small business owners gain access to capital and educated banks about SBA loan programs & created collaborative partnerships with community-based organizations. As a Senior Commercial Loan Specialist for 10 years in Herndon, VA at NGPC,, I honored, repaired or denied guaranties requested by banks on delinquent business loans. 
   

  Mary Conway, Principal, Conway Communications since 1998.  Advisory Council for BWF Board. Highly experienced investor relations and strategic corporate communications consultant with expertise in shaping long-term investor relationships for companies of all sizes and industries.  Serves clients in diverse fields, including technology, life sciences, financial services and industrial.  Works closely with senior management and outside advisors to ensure optimal efficiency in satisfying disclosure obligations and communicating with investors.  
 
About our Moderator:
 
Susan McCarthy, CPA, MST, CSEP.  Treasurer for BWF Board.  She works closely with her clients to help close the gap between setting their goals and accomplishing them through collaboration, advocacy and education as their CPA, Consultant, Estate Planner and Advocate.  She works with a variety of clients including small businesses, nonprofit organizations, elders and individuals.  She has over 30 years' experience she is licensed as a CPA in MA, has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a Master's in Taxation and an estate planning certification.
