About Our Speaker: 

Katie Donovan is a salary and career negotiation consultant, equal pay consultant, and keynote speaker.  Her company, Equal Pay Negotiations LLC, is dedicated to achieving equal pay by consulting for all the stakeholders: female employees, employers, and policy makers. Katie’s 360-degree background in employment, which includes working for a staffing firm, an applicant-tracking developer, and a trade association, brings a unique and pragmatic perspective to the work.  

Ms. Donovan’s helps her employee clients typically negotiate increases of $5,000 to $50,000.  Katie expands the equal pay toolbox of employers and policy makers to include an end of using previous pay in the hiring process and other no-cost or low-cost to implement actions.   Katie was part of the team that wrote legislation in MA and advised CA on similar legislation filed by both states in 2015. 

Ms. Donovan speaks and conducts workshops on equal pay, salary negotiations, and career management at such venues as Harvard Business School, NASDAQ, Women in Construction, Association of American University Women, University of North Carolina, and Mom Corps.   She is frequently quoted by and contributes to media including Mashable, SELF Magazine, Forbes, NPR, and more.

Ms. Donovan earned her MBA from McCallum School of Business, Bentley University in Waltham, MA and a BA in Economics from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.  She is a member of the Legislative Taskforce of National Organization for Women (NOW) Mass Chapter, the Steering Committee of 2020 Women on Boards Boston Chapter, the Board of Visitors of Miss Hall’s School, Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM), American Association of University Women (AAUW), Ellevate, and Boston GLOW.

Katie grew up in Chelsea, MA and has stayed close to her roots, as has her extended family.  She loves Boston and its two best sports, Red Sox baseball and politics.  When not working, she can be found enjoying Boston and Cape Cod with friends and family, practicing yoga, kayaking, and baking.
