Boston Women in Finance is a membership association of women executives, managers and other career professionals with an interest in finance.
Our goal is
to highlight thought leadership in Finance across multiple industries
and to connect this community of women professionals.
Our diverse
membership represents commercial and investment banks, brokerage houses,
asset managers, biotech, high tech, insurance companies, accounting and
consulting firms, entrepreneurs, and academic institutions.
Our History – from Wall Street to Federal Street
Eight
women on Wall Street with vision, ambition, intelligence, energy and
pride, formed the association in 1956. The founding members were mostly
security analysts—the first professional position open to women on Wall
Street —and soon included bankers, brokers, traders, management
consultants, financial analysts, portfolio managers, economists, and
lawyers.
In 1995, the Boston chapter was founded.
